The records consist of correspondence, meeting minutes, printed material, photographs, and clippings and reprints of writings by and about members of the Yale College Class of 1864, maintained by the class secretary, Charles G. Rockwood.

Abstract: The papers contain correspondence related to Roswell Parish's attendance at Yale College (Class of 1864), Civil War letters consisting of letters of introduction obtained by Parish in conveying his brother home from the Battle of Antietam and miscellaneous correspondence, autographs, and printed matter. Abstract:

The papers largely consist of journals (1853-1864) begun in Sterling's home in Stratford, Connecticut and include three of his years at Yale College, with loose sheets for the period from April to July 1860, his freshman year. Also included are a commonplace book and miscellaneous items, including a translation of a Greek reader made in 1858, Yale memorabilia, correspondence, certificates, legal and financial documents, speeches, writings, photographs, and a memorial scrapbook.

The records consist of correspondence, questionnaires, memoranda, log books, memorabilia, agendas, minutes, photograph albums, and finanical reports from class council and executive council meetings, and statistical charts and reports of Yale College classes. Materials concerning the Sheffield Scientic School Class of 1920 are also included.
