Abstract: Papers of five generations of the descendants of John Jay, chief justice of the United States Supreme Court, through his eldest son, Peter Augustus Jay. John Jay is represented by nine letters beginning in 1801 at the time of his retirement. These chiefly discuss his health and family matters. Miscellaneous papers of E. H. Knight, mostly relating to his year at Yale College, 1897-1898. Included are nine notebooks with his notes on the lectures of William Lyon Phelps, Oliver H. Richardson, William Graham Sumner and A. M. Wheeler. In addition there is a history paper by Albert R. Palmer (Y.1901), correspondence relating to Knight's admission to Yale, two family letters, college memorabilia and a genealogy.

Abstract: The Livingston Family Papers spans the eighteenth through the twenty-first centuries, and represents six generations of descendants of John Livingston (1750-1822) of Oak Hill and their relatives by marriage in the Curran, Mulford, Hopkins, and Rogers families. The papers consist of correspondence and subject files primarily documenting the personal life of James Robinson Smith. Several of the subject files document his scholarship, personal beliefs, and work with the Red Cross and food rationing.

Abstract: Edward Clark Streeter, 1874-1947, was a graduate of Yale College in 1898 who practiced medicine in Chicago in the early part of his career. After his move to Boston in 1907, he became a book collector, a historian of medicine, and a friend and collaborator of Harvey Cushing on historical projects.
