Gielgud says he would be happy to offer a prize for "Theatrical Design,", but says "it is impossible for me to promise to judge, as I have no idea what work I shall be doing in the autumn" though "I shall, hope, however, to be able to see the designs this time, if I am in London and not working day and night!" Written below, in another hand, is "Good man, this Gielgud!"
