Thirty-three TLS, four ALS, two TL, and one TL, photocopy, from Oppen to Shapiro, with one TLS from Mary Oppen to Shapiro, most undated. Letters discuss Oppen's and Shapiro's writing; one letter encloses a version of Oppen's "Some San Francisco Poems." Some letters were published in Selected Letters of George Oppen, edited by Rachel Blau DuPlessis (Durham: Duke University Press, 1990).
