Biography

Bookseller, publisher, writer. Ben Abramson was born in Lithuania in 1898, and immigrated to the United States with his parents after the turn of the century, where he lived for the rest of life. Abramson founded the Argos Book Shop in 1920.

Abstract: The Argus Book Shop Correspondence consists of the shop's "author correspondence" files holding letters between Ben Abramson and his staff and more than four hundred writers, artists, printers, critics, and illustrators.
