L. M. Montgomery, November 30, 1874 - April 24, 1942, is best known for writing the series of books beginning with Anne of Green Gables set in Prince Edward Island, Canada. She married Ewen ("Ewan") Macdonald, and had three children: Chester, Hugh, and Stuart.

Overview: The collection consists of autograph letters, business papers, and legal papers, in French and English, almost all to or by Canadians. The papers also contain an account book of Morse's transactions with the Yale Art Library and correspondence relating to the Howe family of Nova Scotia, chiefly Joseph Howe's duel with John Croke Halliburton.
