Davis. The five scrapbooks chronicle Davis's participation in the Mexican War and Civil War, service in New Mexico, and his interest in Democratic party politics. Ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1834, he sailed that year to China as the first Protestant medical missionary to that country.
