Scope and Contents: Stanfield informs Redgrave about Alfred Chalon's intention to leave his art collection to Hampstead on the condition that a "proper and suitable building be erected to receive it." Stanfield wonders if the government would be willing to help fund the construction of a building. The donation of artwork is not to be made public until they "are in a position to accept" it.
