Scope and Contents

Series II, Writings, contains drafts for poems, novels, theatrical adaptations, and other writings by Solange Clésinger-Sand. There are complete manuscripts for the early "Les roses et une fauvette..." (1834), "Histoirettes pour les toute petits," and a travelogue entitled "Une visite à Charon", in addition to a number of drafts for incomplete projects, including a play ("Sélim"), a theatrical adaptation ("Orio Soranzo") of a novel (L'Uscoque) by George Sand, and a novel, [On Thora]. Writings also contain notes and manuscript fragments.

Opening Hours

Access Information

The Beinecke Library is open to all Yale University students and faculty, and visiting researchers whose work requires use of its special collections. You will need to bring appropriate photo ID the first time you register. Beinecke is a non-circulating, closed stack library. Paging is done by library staff during business hours. You can request collection material online at least two business days in advance of your visit, using the request links in Archives at Yale.
