Letter to William Ireland Knapp, Mar 16, 1890; ANS to Addison Van Name, Mar 7, 1891, appended to a printed circular letter requesting contributions to a Testimonial Fund for Reinhold Rost, Feb, 1891; copy of a letter from Whitney to the editor of The Daily News, Mar 4, 1892, written in autograph manuscript in an unidentified hand, in reply to a letter attributed to Andrew Lang, Feb 19, [1892], with a clipping; and a copy of a letter to the editor of The Academy, written in autograph manuscript in an unidentified hand, Mar 19, 1892, with a clipping of "Professor Whitney's Reply to Max Mueller," Feb 14, 1876, from the Examiner.
Related materials are a copy of a letter from Reinhold Rost to the secretary to the delegates of the Clarendon Press, Mar 16, 1891, written in autograph manuscript in an unidentified hand, with a mimeographed copy of the letter; six ALS from Rost to Whitney, 1892, including a copy of portions of a letter from Mueller to Lord Cross; and a copy of a TL from A. Godley, to the secretary to the delegates of the Clarendon Press, May 13, 1891.
Also present is a fragment of a AM relating to Mueller, written in an unidentified hand, n.d.

Access Information
The Beinecke Library is open to all Yale University students and faculty, and visiting researchers whose work requires use of its special collections.
