Scope and Contents

Series II, Family Correspondence, is grouped into eight subseries, one for each of the following members of the Pratt Family: Nana Pratt Hawkins (daughter), Anna Laura Pratt (wife), Mason Delano Pratt (son), Richard Henry Pratt, R. H. Pratt, II (grandson), Sarah Pratt (granddaughter), Guy LeRoy Stevick (son-in-law), Marion Pratt Stevick (daughter). Within each subseries the correspondence is arranged alphabetically by the name of the author. Letters written by the eight family members are filed under the name of the recipient. All letters written by the family members are filed in their respective subseries, except those addressed to General Pratt. All letters written to Pratt are filed in the R. H. Pratt section under the name of the author.

Access Information

The Beinecke Library is open to all Yale University students and faculty, and visiting researchers whose work requires use of its special collections. You will need to bring appropriate photo ID the first time you register. Beinecke is a non-circulating, closed stack library. Paging is done by library staff during business hours. You can request collection material online at least two business days in advance of your visit, using the request links in Archives at Yale.
