Series IV, Paul Kagan Research Files, is organized into seventeen subseries: The Farm, Fountaingrove, Halcyon, Holy City, Icaria Speranza, International Re-Educational Foundation, Kaweah, Krotona and Ojai Valley, Lama Foundation, Llano del Rio and Newllano, Pisgah Grande, Point Loma, Rosicrucians, Self-Realization Fellowship, Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, Vedanta Society of Southern California, and Other Communes.

Boxes 48-56: Restricted fragile material. Reference surrogates have been substituted in the main files. For further information consult the appropriate curator.

During the course of his research, Kagan acquired copy prints and negatives from other institutions. Where possible, the institution holding the original images has been identified and contacted, and permission has been obtained to retain the copy prints and negatives in this collection, with the understanding that they are for reference use only, and are not to be reproduced. Kagan also acquired photocopies of the historian Robert Hine's notes. They are for reference use only and are not to be reproduced.

Opening Hours

Access Information

The Beinecke Library is open to all Yale University students and faculty, and visiting researchers whose work requires use of its special collections. You will need to bring appropriate photo ID the first time you register. Beinecke is a non-circulating, closed stack library. Paging is done by library staff during business hours. You can request collection material online at least two business days in advance of your visit, using the request links in Archives at Yale.
