Scope and Contents
Boxes 14-16 hold Series II, Writings, which is divided into six sections, Books, Exhibition Catalogues, Magazine Articles, Newspaper Articles, Other Writings, and Sale Catalogues. Most sections are arranged by title. However, Exhibition Catalogues are arranged by artist or collector, then by title. They include catalogues to which McBride made significant contributions, such as forewords, biographies, or introductions. Newspaper Articles are arranged by the name of newspapers to which McBride contributed. Sale Catalogues, for which McBride wrote forewords, are listed by auction house, then by short title. Most writings are printed unless otherwise indicated.

The materials are open for research.
Restricted Fragile Papers in boxes 32-40 and 49 may only be consulted with the permission of the appropriate curator. Preservation photocopies for reference use have been substituted in the main files, or can be requested.

Access Information
The Beinecke Library is open to all Yale University students and faculty, and visiting researchers whose work requires use of its special collections. You will need to bring appropriate photo ID the first time you register. Beinecke is a non-circulating, closed stack library. Paging is done by library staff during business hours. You can request collection material online at least two business days in advance of your visit, using the request links in Archives at Yale.
