2 plates Gertrude Stein had made for Carl Van Vechten at the local pottery near Bilignin where she lived. Each: 9 inches diameter. One inscribed "Rose is a rose is a rose is a" and "for Carlo" One inscribed "for Carlo" with branch and flower motif.

The Beinecke Library is open to all Yale University students and faculty, and visiting researchers whose work requires use of its special collections.
