Scope and Contents
James Jesse Strang (1813-1856), was a founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Strangite). The collection contains letters to and from James Jesse Strang and some third party correspondence. There is also a meterological journal from Beaver Island, Michigan, which includes notes on the fishes and shells of the area, Strang's diary covering 1831-1836, and documents of the Order of the Illuminati.

Access Information
The Beinecke Library is open to all Yale University students and faculty, and visiting researchers whose work requires use of its special collections. You will need to bring appropriate photo ID the first time you register. Beinecke is a non-circulating, closed stack library. Paging is done by library staff during business hours.
