Henry Schollhorn (1848-1923)

Henry Schollhorn was a German American artist, miner, and grocer. He was born Jacob Heinrich Schöllhorn in Heidenheim, Germany, the eldest of son of Maria Magdalena Weidner Schöllhorn (1819-1900) and Heinrich Schöllhorn (1822-1873). Schollhorn immigrated to the United States between 1864 and 1866, and initially lived in Arizona and Nevada until he relocated to Portland, Oregon in 1876. He worked as a grocer at 377 4th Street in Portland until he retired approximately 1905. In 1878, he married Ellen Herbert Terry Schollhorn (1849-1895) and they had four children. Schollhorn died at Portland, Oregon.
