Origine della Regia Dohana di Foggia. A historical treatise in Italian on Foggia in Apulia. Alphonso I of Aragon, King of Naples, made it a royal domain in 1443 and named it the place at which the tax on sheep would be paid and the wool sold. 52 pages, numbered ff. 93-119.

In Convitato di Pietra. A comedy play. Ms. 91 pages. An Italian version of the Don Juan legend, undated. Imitation of Tirso de Molina's famous Burlador de Sevilla, but with the insertion of comic scenes acted by characters from the commedia dell'arte like Pulcinella (speaking in Neapolitan dialect), Mezzettino (speaking in Venetian), Rosetta, Pimpinella; these scenes differentiate this play from the Spanish original.

Since no author's name is given in this ms., it is difficult to establish whether this play is by Onofrio Gilberto di Solofra (printed in Naples, 1653) which as Belloni states in his Il Seicento (p. 290) has thus far been unprocurable; or whether it is by Andrea Perrucci, a poet from Palermo, and a translator of Spanish comedies, who published a Convitato di Pietra in 1678, reprinted 1684, and perhaps later. Supplica delli Conti Agostino Landi, Giovanni Angosciola...portata al signor Don Ferrante Gonzaga, Governator della Stato di Milano. Ms. in Latin. 22 pages, numbered ff. 139-150. Dated at end: Parma, December 1580. Landi, Angosciola (Anguissola?), Pallavinci, and Gonfalieri address Don Ferrante Gonzaga for not complying with the summons issued against them to appear in a Roman court, in order to contest the charge of having conspired to murder Pier Luigi Farnese. The reasons which impelled them to conspire are given.

Sordini is not mentioned in the standard history of 17th century Italian literature, the Seicento, by Antonio Belloni. This tragicomedy was performed apparently under Francesco Boccalari in 1668.

Brignole-Sale, Antonio Giulio. La pazza finta pazza. Ms. in Italian. 154 pages, numbered ff. 195-271. A comedy by the author of a collection of heterogeneous and bizarre short stories (Le instabilita dell'ingegno, Bologna, 1635). Brignole- Sale was born in Genove in 1605 and died in 1665. He was Ambassador to Spain, a poet, and entered the Jesuit Order during the last years of his life. This comedy is probably unprinted. 17th century.
