Scope and Contents
The writings by Celia Shapiro consist of her diaries and memoirs, written in a mixture of Russian and English. The travel diary describes her journey in 1936 to England, Germany, and the Soviet Union, with interesting observations on Jewish life in Germany. The memoirs in letter form also make references to that trip and to other events in her past.
