Consists of records generated by the management of the University's physical resources and its
administrative support services. These records document the purchasing and control of equipment
and supplies, management of dining hall and other business operations, parking management,
management of information systems and communications services, printing services, and similar
While some records documenting the management of Yale buildings and facilities may be found in this
classification, the bulk of such documentation, particularly as it relates to the management of building
and renovation projects, may be found in YRG 46.
For many years, many of the administrative operations of the University were a direct responsibility of
the Treasurer, and records generated by those operations may be found in YRG 5-A. Most of the
records in this classification document administrative activities for later periods, when these functions
became the direct responsibility of more specialized offices.
Records documenting operations and services specific to a particular school, department, or other
division of the University may also be found with the records of that division.
