Abstract

Biographical / Historical

From 1701 to 1977 the treasurer was the principal fiscal officer of Yale. From 1978 to 1983 the treasurer's responsibilities, along with the university's principal non-academic administrative duties, were under the aegis of the vice-president for finance and administration. In 1983 separate positions of vice-president for finance and vice-president for administration were created by the Yale Corporation but were later reintegrated.
