This collection consists of miscellaneous diaries which are not part of any other collection.

All diaries, except those by anonymous writers, are catalogued. Cards are filed in the catalogue under author, subject, and geographical location.

Existence and Location of Copies

The Michael F. Campbell diary is also available on microfilm (290 frames on 1 reel, 35 mm.) from Manuscripts and Archives, Yale University Library, at cost. Order no. HM212.

Arrangement

The diaries are arranged alphabetically by diarist name, beginning with anonymous entries, and assigned sequential numbers which appear in the folder column for boxes 1-18. The remainder of the diaries are also assigned sequential numbers, however, there is no alphabetical order.

Separated Materials

The Earliss Porter Arvine (1846-1914) diary formerly in Box 10, Folder 319 was transferred to Yale Miscellaneous Manuscript Collection, MS 1258, Series I, Alphabetical.
