Scope and Contents: The papers are made up almost entirely of scrapbooks assembled by Henry Sherman, his wife and four of his children. The scrapbooks offer vivid documentation of their lives in the period 1850-1900 in Washington, D.C. with correspondence, photographs, drawings, clippings and memorabilia of all kinds.
