Notes taken by Thomas Marston between 1936 and 1937 from documents in the British Public Records Office, the India Office, and the British Museum relating to Aden, Abyssinia, and Arabia from 1800 to 1878.

Biographical / Historical

Thomas Ewart Marston was born on November 7, 1904, in Chicago, Illinois. He was educated at Yale (B.A. 1927) and Harvard (Ph.D. 1939), taught history, and was curator of classics in the Yale University Library. His books include Britain's Imperial Role in the Red Sea Area, 1800-1878, and The Vinland Map and the Tartar Relation. He died on February 25, 1984.
