Shipping and business records make up the papers of Samuel C. Johnson (1792-1872) of Guilford, Connecticut. The papers, which include bills, orders, receipts, invoices, inventories, and other financial and legal papers, detail goods and prices for shipments of merchandise on the sloop Clarissa sailing out of Naugatuck and Guilford under Captain Isaac Meigs, as well as other business transactions carried on by Johnson. The papers are arranged in chronological order.
