Scope and Contents
This collection brings together material relating to several insurance companies which is of insufficient quantity to justify setting up separate collections for each company.
The papers range from the nineteenth through the early twentieth century. Included are: an agent's register for the Middlesex Mutual Assurance Company of Middletown, Connecticut, and the State Mutual Fire Insurance Company, Hartford, Connecticut, apparently compiled by S. Hart; a study of the Aetna Life Insurance Company and the Travelers Insurance Company, both of Hartford, by Richard Potter; two volumes of insurance policy records kept by George Parker of New York, with entries for a number of companies, including Middlesex Mutual, Hartford Mutual, State Mutual, et cetera; and three letter books pertaining to the State Fire Insurance Company of New Haven, Connecticut.
