Simons, Elwyn LaVerne. (b. July 14, 1930) BS Rice University 1953, MA Princeton 1955, PhD Princeton1956, DPhil Oxford 1959. Visiting Curator Vert. Paleo. 1960-61; Assoc. Cur. Vert. Paleo. 61-64, Curator Vert. Paleo. 64-77. Elwyn left Yale in 1977 for a professorship at Duke University. Elwyn, a world-renowned specialist on the evolution of fossil primates, is a member of the National Academy of Sciences
