Chester Bowles papers
The papers consist of correspondence, speeches, writings, photographs, clippings, oral history interviews, and other material documenting the personal life and professional career of Chester Bowles. Bowles' political career in Connecticut and his service as ambassador to India are detailed, as is his work as a foreign policy advisor, chairman of the Democratic Platform Committee at the 1960 national convention, and author and speaker on political affairs.

Henry Leavitt Ellsworth papers
The papers consist of several letters and two journals of Henry Ellsworth's travels to New Connecticut (1811) and to the West (1832) after his appointment as Commissioner to the Indians. In this capacity, he was to superintend the removal of Indian tribes to the south and west of Arkansas, and his journal of 1832 describes the life of the Indians in eastern Oklahoma. There is also one letter from Henry Leavitt Ellsworth to his son, Henry William Ellsworth, 27 July 1834.
Gibbs family papers
Correspondence, financial papers and memorabilia of members of the Gibbs family. Of principal interest are thirteen letters (1783-1796) from Roger Sherman to his brother-in-law, Henry Gibbs, of which five (1789-1790) discuss the deliberations of the first Congress of the United States. Other figures represented in the papers are two Josiah Willard Gibbses (father and son) and Addison Van Name.

Also included are manuscripts and drafts of his books, columns, and speeches. In addition there are diaries and engagement books, photographs of Walter Lippmann with family and friends, requests to speak or write, honors, and film and audio tapes.

These papers relate largely to McCormick's participation in the London Inter-Allied Conference (the "House Mission") and the American Commission to Negotiate Peace in Paris. They were formerly a part of the House Collection.
John Augustus Hendrix McLane papers
Politician. Correspondence, essays, diaries, clippings, and other papers of J. Hendrix McLane, southern political independent, South Carolina gubernatorial candidate in 1882, and reformer in the Republican party. The papers are mainly concerned with McLane's political career, though there is some material relating to his studies at Tufts Theological School. Notable among the correspondents are George Washington Cable, Selden Connor, and Wendell Phillips.
