Letters and diaries document Long's YMCA work in Tianjin (Tientsin) and Shenyang (Mukden) and shed light on the political situation in China during the 1920s. Austin O. Long was a YMCA worker in Tianjin (Tientsin), China from 1919 to 1923 and in Shenyang (Mukden), Manchuria from 1924 to 1928.

Lawrence and Eleanor Mead Papers
This collection documents the lives and work of Lawrence and Eleanor Mead. Lawrence Mead served in China under the YMCA from 1913-16, and 1919-1926. He taught English at Yenching University in Beijing from 1928-1939, and was unofficial "official" photographer for the University. Extensive correspondence and memorabilia shed light on the early lives and family interactions of the Meads. The photograph collection documenting Yenching University, and scenes and events in China is noteworthy.

The collection consists of correspondence, writings, and source material related almost entirely to Shedd's professional involvement in religious work among college and university students. Clarence Prouty Shedd received the B.A. degree in 1909 and the M.A. degree in 1914, both from Clark University, and earned a B.D. in 1925 and a Ph.D. in 1932 from Yale University. He taught in the fields of Christian methods and religion in higher education at Yale University from 1923 to 1955.

Lennig Sweet Papers
Letters, reports, and printed material document the work of the Beijing (Peking) (Beijing) YMCA, which was sponsored by Princeton-in-Peking. Lennig Sweet served the YMCA in Beijing, China between 1916 and 1934. He later worked for United China Relief from 1942 to 1947 and as YMCA Secretary for Overseas Staff and YMCA Secretary in Seoul, Korea.
