African Collection, Yale University Library, records of the curator

African glass slides collection
The collection consists of 112 glass slides which represent various aspects of African culture and scenery. The slides are identified only in broad subject areas and are undated, though most appear to date from the late nineteenth century or early twentieth century.
Immanuel Wallerstein collection of African liberation movement posters
The collection consists of posters acquired by Immanuel Wallerstein which document liberation movements in numerous African countries. Accession 2015-M-001 contains material from a 2008 exhibit on the posters.
African postcard collection
The collection consists of postcards depicting scenes from various countries on the African continent.

The AIDS Collection consists of printed materials, including reports, newsletters, pamphlets, posters, and flyers, related to the prevention, treatment, and status of AIDS in various countries.
AIDS Task Force at Yale records
The materials consist of organizational background material, meeting agendas, and program documentation.
Lucien Aigner photographs and papers
The collection contains contact sheets, negatives, transparencies, slides, photographic prints, scrapbooks, writings, professional and personal papers, correspondence, printed material, cameras and other recording equipment, and audiovisual and computer media created and collected by Hungarian photojournalist Lucien Aigner.
William Appleton Aiken papers
The papers consist of correspondence, writings, research materials, and autograph letters relating to the literary work of William Appleton Aiken on the life of Daniel Fitch, second Earl of Nottingham. Also included are Aiken's personal papers including his diaries as an army intelligence officer in the Middle East during World War II and an exhibition scrapbook prepared by the Overseas Branch of the Office of War Information.
Alaska manuscripts collection
This collection encompasses accessions of single letters and small groups of letters and other manuscripts pertaining to the history of Alaska, which the library has chosen to group and list as an artificial collection. Letters and documents discuss travel in Alaska, interactions with Native Alaskans, the Alaska gold rush, the fur industry, surveying, business operations, and naval service. Also includes one photograph of the U.S.S. Pinta.
Josephine Procopio Albarelli collection of Gilberto Owen and Elías Nandino
Josef Albers papers
The papers consist of correspondence, subject files, printed material, and family memorabilia, which document the personal life and professional career of Josef Albers. The papers contain some material relating to the Bauhaus school but the bulk of the material dates from Albers's arrival in the United States. The largest part of the papers is composed of published material by or about Albers or which contain reproductions of his work.
Neale Albert archive
The collection comprises correspondence and ephemera related to contemporary bookbinding, collected by Neale Albert. Includes material related to the binders Susan Allix, George Kirkpatrick, and Ann Muir. Also present is material related to exhibitions at the John Rylands Library (2012) and the Yale Center for British Art (2016).
Ralph Albertson papers
The papers consist of correspondence, writings, personal files, and photographs documenting Ralph Albertson's professional career. The most substantive portion of the collection is comprised of published and unpublished writings on various topics, including religion and the cooperative movement. The writings include novels, plays, articles, and books. There are also noteworthy photographs of Russia and the Siberian front, 1917-1918.
