Abstract:

This collection contains unofficial archival documentation of the work of the Bible Translation and Utilization Program of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A., which was the policy-making body for the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible. The records date primarily from the period when the donor, Dr. J. Shannon Clarkson, was a BTU member. They document the preparation, launch, and promotion of the NRSV and reactions to it.

Marie Borroff (1923-2019) was a translator, scholar, poet, and professor at Yale University. The collection contains Borroff's research and teaching files, correspondence, poetry, and other writings, including Borroff's work in computer poetry.

The Papers consist of correspondence, writings, and other papers that document the life and work of Keith Botsford from the beginning of his career to 1969. Correspondence is both professional and personal, and documents Botsford's writing and editing activity, as well as his involvement in International PEN and the Congress for Cultural Freedom.
