The maps detail the route of the Lewis and Clark Expedition to the Pacific Coast and back, 1804-1806. Many of them were created or annotated during the expedition by William Clark. Scope and Contents: 105 manuscript maps and technical drawings documenting surveying for and construction of the Northern Pacific Railroad. The maps illustrate railroad development in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, as well as construction in several Indian reservations.

Richard Henry Pratt papers

Overview: The collection includes letter-press books, writings, diaries, notes, photographs, and drawings. The papers largely relate to Pratt's work with and theories on the education of American Indians and his involvement with the Carlisle Indian School. Included is material relating to the controversies surrounding his work and much relating to Indians and Indian life in general. There are a group of Indian photographs and drawings, and papers relating to members of Pratt's family.
