Bliss (1865-1960) was stationed in Shaowu, China as a medical missionary by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. Bliss contributed to the eradication of rinderpest in cattle and lived in China through the First Sino-Japanese War and the Xinhai Revolution.
