Regular and substantive correspondence as well as writings and biographical information provide an excellent picture of the lives and work of the Wahls. Carl and Elisabeth Wahl served as missionaries in China under the Evanglical Church. They were first stationed in Shenzhou (Shenchow) and later in Tongren, Guizhou (Tungjen, Kweichow Province) (now Guizhou) at the Ming Teh Boys' School.
