Abstract:

The Sir Charles Blagden Papers contain scientific and travel notes, correspondence, and printed material documenting aspects of the life and scientific work of Sir Charles Blagden. These include observations on travel in England and on the continent in the 1780s; memoranda on scientific experiments and observations, including notes by Lavoisier; letters to his brother, John Blagden Hale; and proof sheets of Philosophical Transactions for 1789.

Abstract: The Stephen Henry Bronson collection includes autograph correspondence of Dr. Stephen Henry Bronson, while studying abroad in Europe, to his parents, dating from October 1867 to May 1870. There are also typescripts of the correspondence prepared by or for Elizabeth H. Thomson, a member of the faculty of the Department of History of medicine at Yale. One finds in Bronson's letters observations about medicine - in particular anatomy, and academic, civic, cultural and political life in France....

Stephen Henry Bronson papers

The papers consist of the diaries and letters of Stephen Henry Bronson (with typescripts) and a diary of his father Henry Bronson (with typescript). The material documents the younger Bronson's three years of scientific and medical study in Paris, in addition to his European travels, 1867-1871. Henry Bronson's diary details his European voyage, 1839-1840.

The Norton Nicholls Correspondence collection contains letters the British clergyman received from friends and acquaintances, and letters he wrote to a close friend, the poet Thomas Gray, and to his mother Jane Floyer Nicholls. Also present is Nicholls's short "Prayer to be use before inoculation" and two letters from Sir Horace Mann to unidentified recipients.
