Reproductions

 Subject
Subject Source: Art & Architecture Thesaurus
Scope Note: Copies of art images, art objects, decorative arts, or other valued images or objects, made without intent to deceive; with regard to art images, it includes photographic reproductions. The term implies more precise and faithful imitation than does the term "copies (derivative objects)." Where the intent is to deceive, see "forgeries" or "counterfeits." For prints copying other two-dimensional works, typically dating from before the widespread use of photography, use "reproductive prints."

William Inglis Morse Lantern Slide Collection

 Collection
Call Number: VRC 172
Abstract: Collection consists of lantern slides of travels in 1926 and 1927 (and possibly other years), as well as didactic material possibly used for lecturing. The travels appear to be those of the William Inglis Morse family (as marked on some of the slides), of Lynn, MA. His daughter, Susan Morse Hilles, went on to be an art collector and donor to the Yale Art Gallery. Her papers were donated to the Harvard University Library, and include travel journals that may be related to these slides....
Dates: ca. 1925-1927
