Abstract:

The collection consists of cashbooks, correspondence, daybooks, invoices, journals, ledgers and other materials documenting the financial operations of Elihu Geer's printing shop and stationery business in Hartford, Connecticut. Material relating to his publication of the Hartford Journal and the Congregationalist is also included in the collection.

Contents of two scrapbooks kept by Punderson containing samples of his drawings and engravings, photographs, trade and calling cards, and a large collection of engravings by others as well as newspaper and magazine clippings, chiefly portraits of notable persons. A large part of Punderson's work includes engravings of members of the Yale College faculty, views of the college building, seals of various societies, and views of Connecticut.

The Carl Purington Rollins papers document Rollins’s career as a master printer, graphic designer, author, and educator. The collection consists of personal and business correspondence; writings by Rollins and others; materials designed and/or printed by Rollins and others; and research files and notebooks.

Abstract: The papers include correspondence, journals, memorabilia, and photographs that document the life of Samuel Willard Saxton and the career of his brother General Rufus Saxton during the Civil War. The largest portion of the papers is composed of S. Willard Saxton's multi-volumed journal, which he began in 1847 while at Brook Farm and continued until the 1920s.
