This collection consists chiefly of papers created and collected by Dan De Quille that document a portion of his writing career, circa 1860-1898, as well as a small quantity of material accumulated by his family from 1936 to circa 1956. The papers consist of correspondence, writings, photographs, and ephemera, as well as newspaper clippings collected by De Quille on a variety of subjects.

Correspondence and business papers of Captain Richard F. C. Hartley, shipping firm owner of Saco, Maine, mainly relating to voyages of the ships Messenger and Devonshire. Also included are Samuel Hartley's memo booklets for the sloop Packet of Saco, 1816-1838. An addition to the collection includes documents of ships owned by Richard Hartley involved in the guano trade between Peru and other countries.

The papers consist of correspondence, research materials, and writings documenting the academic career of George Kubler, and correspondence and records from his service as chief of the UNESCO mission to Cuzco, Peru, following the earthquake in that city on May 20, 1951.

Abstract: Correspondence, writings, records of astronomical expeditions, diaries, notebooks and scrapbooks of David Peck Todd, astronomer and teacher at Amherst College from 1881 to 1917. Between 1882 and 1914 Todd conducted nine expeditions to various parts of the world to study solar eclipses. The notes, photographs, drawings and memorabilia of these expeditions make up a significant portion of the papers.
