Underwood family papers
Principal figures in these papers are Clara A. Case Underwood, her daughter, Clara Beatrice, and son, Eugene Bertrand. Included is some family correspondence (1860-1904), an autograph album kept by Clara A. Underwood, European travel diaries and notes written by Clara Beatrice Underwood (1903), and various certificates of membership and diplomas of Eugene Bertrand Underwood and his first wife, Lottie Elizabeth Treat Underwood.
Alfred White Van Sinderen Collection
The collection consists of letters of thirty-five presidents of the United States from George Washington to Lyndon B. Johnson. Each is represented by one letter written in office and one written after leaving office. There are also fifteen other letters either written by a United States president or relating to a United States president.
Vann collection
A collection of autograph letters and facsimiles of which the largest number are letters to and from Daniel Webster. Also in the collection is a volume of drafts of letters, pamphlets, and speeches composed by Stephen Devalson Dillaye between 1864-1868 on current political issues. Dillaye was a Democrat who opposed radical abolitionism, but sided with the North in the Civil War.
