Burney family collection
The collection contains correspondence of several members of the Burney family, particularly Charles Burney (1726-1814); his children Charles Burney, D. D. (1757-1817), Fanny Burney (1752-1840), and Susanna Burney Philips; and Charles Burney IV (1815-1907). Other major correspondents include Alexandre d'Arblay, William Bewley, Peter Paul Dobree, George Isaac Huntingford, John Kaye, Hester Lynch Piozzi, Thomas Twining, and John Young.
Norton Nicholls correspondence
The Norton Nicholls Correspondence collection contains letters the British clergyman received from friends and acquaintances, and letters he wrote to a close friend, the poet Thomas Gray, and to his mother Jane Floyer Nicholls. Also present is Nicholls's short "Prayer to be use before inoculation" and two letters from Sir Horace Mann to unidentified recipients.
Southcomb family papers
The Southcomb Family Papers document some aspects of the clerical careers of several generations of members of the Southcomb family, which held the rectorship of Rose Ash in Devon for over 200 years. Included are devotional commonplace books of Lewis Southcomb; 279 sermons, mostly dating from the first half of the nineteenth century, by four different family members; and the diaries of John Ladeveze Hamilton Southcomb.
